Recording Artist. Chris has released an album before but since then, medyo nag-lie low siya sa pag-release ng sariling material. He does have plans of releasing a new album this year though. "I'm working on my new one right now, so hopefully more originals this time…I'm working on [it] with my band," he said in an exclusive interview. Chris doesn't stop performing. Bukod sa regular SOP numbers niya, he also accompanies Lovi sa mga mall shows ng dalaga. However, there is one thing na gusto niyang balikan. "Hopefully I can get out there in the gig circuit, start performing songs that people request. Before, I was in the radio, I used to [host] a show called Wednesday Jamming with Chris Cayzer." Chris explains that the concept of the show was that people would call in and request songs which he would either perform himself, or play on air. The Host. "I used to have guests sometimes," Chris shares about his former show. He tells us na sometimes may iimbitahan silang musicians, while on other days, his musician friends would just drop by. "The thing with that, it was just really, really exciting because people would just come and jam." Chris also went on to host an international program for a music channel. "That was global, [but] when I got offered to come [to GMA-7], I had to eventually leave that." This is a move he doesn't regret at all. "You know, I found happiness [here], because I get to do music this time, instead of hosting, and music is really my passion. "Also, with the network, with GMA, you can really expand. You can also act, and stuff like that—but I'm still working on my Tagalog first," Chris adds with a laugh. "I just go where the wind takes and me, and take every opportunity that's offered to me." The Man From Manila. This interview was held before Francis Magalona's passing, and iGMA's interview with Chris touched upon how much he looks like the Master Rapper. At Chris adds that he “can count how many times people say that." Chris is a big fan of Francis Magalona, and a friend to the Master Rapper's daughter Maxene. "I looked at Francis M's blog. They actually wrote about me, but they're my friends so it's cool." He notes with amusement, "It's really cool to look like Francis M. He's not a bad looking guy!" Chris also said that the Master Rapper had mentioned a planned collaboration between them in his blog, but sadly, hindi na ito matutuloy. But the young musician was quick to say he is open to work with any artist -- "any artist who wants to work with me, doesn't matter if they're famous or just love to work with music." Chris is taking things one step at a time, but he never loses his focus on what he wants in life. "I'm open to anything: acting, music—any opportunity. [I'm] still young. I just turned 22," he said as the interview ends. And definitely, marami pang mararating si Chris Cayzer. Don't miss him every Sunday in SOP.
