Afternoon television is set to heat up even more with hit Korean series “Doctor John.”

Kdrama fans are in for a treat once again as gripping Korean medical series “Doctor John” makes waves on Philippine television starting March 7 on GTV. But even prior to the show's premiere, fans are already raving about its leads, especially actress Lee Se-young and heartthrob actor Lee Hyu-kyung.

Lee Se-young plays Sylvia, the smart and compassionate anesthesiology resident who soon encounters Doctor John (Ji Sung). Equally hiding behind a dark past, she tries to continue on with her profession as her life intertwines with the genius doctor.

In real life, Lee Se-young has appeared in a number of notable projects in Korea. In fact, one of her series, where she played lead was the '90s romantic comedy “Hit the Top” which aired on GNTV in 2020.

Born on December 20, 1992, the 29-year-old actress was born into an affluent family that had connections in the entertainment world. Now among the most famous stars in South Korea, she debuted at acting at age four. The success that she got from her first project called “The Brother's River” made her one of the most sought-after child stars of the late '90s. Her impressive performances in various film and television projects eventually paved the way for her to be a certified superstar.

Meanwhile, Lee Kyu-hyung plays Samuel, the staunch prosecutor obsessed with obtaining justice for a pivotal event that involved Doctor John. He eventually digs deep into the real person of the famous doctor and eventually becomes his friend.

In real life, he is primarily a musical actor who has made a significant name in theater. Because He began his theater career while attending college and completing his mandatory military service.

He first debuted in films in 2001 and from then on, he was just on his way to becoming one of South Korea's most effective actors.

The 38-year-old actor is best remembered for his portrayal of Yoo Han-yang in the series “Prison Playbook” in 2017. He also appeared in Netflix's “All of Us are Dead.” Eventually, his performances eventually won him acting recognitions in various award-giving bodies.

“Doctor John” will air from 2:00-2:45 PM replacing “Moon Embracing the Sun” on GTV.
