How different will Gil Cuerva be from the original Korean Matteo Do?
In an exclusive interview with Gil Cuerva, the Philippine Matteo has nothing but good words for Kim Soo-hyun, who originally portrayed the role of Matteo Do (also known as Do Min Joon) in the Korean drama My Love From The Star.
He explains, "Guwapo siya. And I think he is a great actor kasi na portray niya ang isang alien. An alien is so different from how everyone is. The same as he is able to portray an alien na may emotions. Kaya ang laki rin ng pressure sa akin kasi he portrayed the role of Matteo Do very well. And it's up to me if I can live up to that expectation when it comes to acting."
How different will he portray the Pinoy Matteo in the upcoming remake of the hit Koreanovela?
He says, "Si Kim Soo-hyun kasi, Korean siya, 'di ba? So, I guess, may difference sa culture. So, 'yan ang magiging [difference]. I'll be more Pinoy, while he is more Korean."
