
Girls' Generation's Taeyeon was set to release her new single called "Happy" on March 9, her 31st birthday.
However, the release of the song and the accompanying music video have been postponed due to the death of the singer's father.
The announcement was made my her company SM Entertainment on the official Twitter account of Girls' Generation.

Korean entertainment website Soompi provided a translation of the announcement which reads,
"Hello. This is SM Entertainment.
"Taeyeon's father has unfortunately passed away on March 9.
"May he rest in peace. Please send Taeyeon warm words of consolation.
"We inform you that the release of Taeyeon's new single “Happy” and its music video that was scheduled for today will be postponed.
"We ask fans who were waiting for the new release for their understanding, and we will provide an announcement later regarding the plans for the song's release."
Meanwhile, fans have continued to send their condolences and encouraging messages to Taeyeon and her family via social media.
