Gladys Reyes says she saw the passion in the eyes of Thea Tolentino and Jeric Gonzales in their first scene with her. She gave pointers on how they could improve their craft and stay in the industry.


Primera Kontrabida of Pinoy Soap Opera Gladys Reyes may look fierce onscreen but in real life, she is lovable and accommodating -- a far cry from her kontrabida roles.

On the set visit of GMANetwork.com last November 25, the Kapuso actress sat down with us for an exclusive interview.

We asked Gladys her impressions on Protégé  winners Thea Tolentino and Jeric Gonzales, her co-stars in Pyra Babaeng Apoy.

“Nakakatuwa na ‘tong mga bata, marunong rumespeto sa katrabaho.  Sina Thea at Jeric,
promising as an actress and actor,” she said.

The Primera Kontrabida shared that she had seen the passion on the eyes of the two Protégé winners in their first scene with her.

“At first, tinitingnan ko sa kanila kung paano nila mahalin ang kanilang trabaho. The first time that I had a scene with them, nakita ko sa kanila ang dedication nila sa trabaho. ‘Yong willingness nilang matuto na mas ma-improve pa ang craft nila.”

According to Gladys, to have a good working relationship with the people around them is what the two should keep in mind in order to stay in the industry.

She advises, “Marunong makisama sa mga katrabaho nila, importante kasi ‘yon. Maraming may talent, maraming magagaling, mahuhusay na bago. Importante sa lahat, aside from luck, eh iyong marunong kang makibagay sa mga kasama mo.”

Comparing Jeric and Thea’s acting before and now, this is what she had to say:
“Ang laki ng improvement, mas ramdam mo na ‘yong sincerity dun sa pag-arte. Hindi na ‘yong inaarte lang, mas nagiging natural ‘yong flow ng kanilang acting.”

She believes that a bright future awaits Thea Tolentino and Jeric Gonzales in show business.

She states, “Unti-unti, mas magiging pulido pa iyang pag-arte nila. Napakabata pa nila. Ang dami pang room for improvement, basta hindi sila sarado sa mga suggestions at sa mga pagbabago.”

“Nakikita natin na very promising sila. I’m sure given the right projects mas mahahasa pa sila nang husto. Talagang magiging mahusay na artista sila lalo na kung seseryosohin nila ‘tong craft na ito. For sure, magiging successful sila, malayo ang mararating nila,” she proudly says.
