Kapuso actress Glaiza de Castro celebrated receiving an honor at the Gawad Pilipino Babae Ka Awards, paying tribute to the bravery and talent of women.
Recently, the Gawad Pilipino Babae Ka Awards honored several personalities who have made outstanding contributions to the empowerment of women across various fields.
Among those honored this year are several women from the Kapuso network, including Unang Hirit host Mariz Umali as “Outstanding Female News Anchor,” GMA Integrated News journalist EJ Gomez as “Outstanding Female Field Reporter,” and Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre star Glaiza de Castro as “Woman of Excellence in Acting.”
After receiving her award, Glaiza took to Instagram to share a message expressing her gratitude for the recognition and a tribute to all women who have shown excellence in their respective fields.
The Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre star noted that women currently encounter numerous obstacles, particularly in their commitment to standing their ground for the truth amidst their heavy duties.
“Sa mundong puno ng ingay at panghuhusga, patuloy na hinahamon ang mga kababaihan na manindigan at piliin ang tama sa kabila ng marami nating responsibilidad,” Glaiza wrote in her caption.
Glaiza also expressed that receiving the award served as a reminder to her that the work and responsibilities of women are not simple; she added that the honor is a tribute to the value of women and a symbol of how they uplift one another.
“Kaya't ang mabigyan ng isang parangal ay nagsisilbing paalala na kahit hindi madali ang ating ginagawa, kahit hindi nakikita ng lahat, may mga tao paring nagbibigay ng halaga at kumikilala sa ating kakayahan. Hindi para iangat ang sarili, kundi para iangat ang isa't isa,” Glaiza expressed.
The Kapuso actress expressed that being included in this year's list of awardees is a significant honor for her.
“Isang karangalan na makasama ang iba pang mga kababaihan mula sa iba't ibang larangan at lugar sa 100 Most Empowered Women Of The Year na ipinagkaloob ng Gawad Pilipino Babae Ka Awards,” Glaiza said.
She ended her post with a compelling message of empowerment: “Mabuhay ang mga babaeng matatag, makapangyarihan at inspirasyon ng bayan.”
Glaiza also included the awards' theme, “#WEcanbeEquALL,” which promotes equality and celebrates the power of women in shaping society.
