As the finale of Stars on the Floor draws near, Glaiza De Castro could not help but feel sentimental.
In an Instagram post, the celebrity dance star reminisced about her struggles through a compilation video of her rehearsals with the other dance stars and expressed gratitude to them for making the show even more special for her.
“With only two episodes left of SOTF, napa-reminisce tuloy ako,” she began.
Glaiza revealed that, while their performances may appear quick and easy, they actually spend 2 to 3 days rehearsing for each performance each week. She added that she personally practices for more than 3 days each week, in addition to their technical rehearsals, since she is not a professional dancer.
“So, minsan 'di na kinakaya ng utak namin. Ganito naging routine namin since April, and in between, we're also doing other stuff,” she shared.
Despite the exhaustion, the Sang'gre star said the experience reminded her of the importance of preparation and enjoying the process.
“But seeing these rehearsal videos again reminded me how important it is to prepare -- and to enjoy the preparation. This project gave me an opportunity to work with people from different backgrounds, and I think that's what I loved the most,” she explained.
Throughout her journey on the dance show, Glaiza said it never felt like a competition because of the strong friendships they formed.
“We weren't really competing against each other. We were being challenged to do different things every week, so I guess that's all we really wanted to prove: That we could do it. And we did,” the Kapuso actress said.
“Looking back, I'm just really proud of what we all managed to create together -- with all the exhaustion, last-minute changes, and brain fog in between. Grateful to have shared this experience with such a passionate and hardworking group,” she added, giving a shoutout to her fellow dance stars.
At the end of her post, she also thanked the star choreographers who guided them through every routine.
“And to our coaches, thank you for sharing your creativity and for guiding us,” Glaiza wrote. “Couldn't have asked for a better team.”
Glaiza's duo partner is JM Yrreverre, and together they are known as The Dream Star Duo.
