What's the story behind Glaiza's thwarted Despedida de Soltera?

Family of Glaiza De Castro had prepared a surprise bridal shower for her before she flew to Europe last year for her wedding abroad.

But things didn't go as planned after her driver tested positive for COVID-19 via antigen test.

The actress' mom and sisters organized a simple bridal shower party at a hotel but the then-bride-to-be opted not to attend for safety reasons even though she tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 infection.

"Siyempre grabe 'yung iyak ko," said Glaiza in an Instagram Story last week.

As Glaiza said, things happen for a reason.

Instead of being whiny out of disappointment, the False Positive star remained optimistic and saw a silver lining in the situation.

"Kung natuloy kaming mag-stay do'n, tuluyan ko nang na-miss ang flight ko," Glaiza shared.

After all, it was still a night to remember as the group pushed through with the bridal shower after they transferred to Glaiza's condo unit in lieu of the COVID-19 circumstances.

''Di naman talaga kailangan ng engrandeng set up sa totoo lang. 'Yung mga kasama mo ang mas mahalaga, kahit nasaan ka pa," Glaiza said, accompanied by heart emojis.

Glaiza has been married to her Irish boyfriend, David Rainey, since October 2021.

They tied the knot in a traditional Irish wedding in Northern Ireland.
