Gloc-9 made a clapback to bashers criticizing him for online selling: "Walang dapat ikahiya kung ang trabaho marangal."
Filipino rapper Gloc-9 has taken to online selling during the coronavirus pandemic, which led to some netizens making fun of the rapper for how unsuitable online selling
is to his image.
Gloc-9 then defended himself, and made a statement on Facebook.
He wrote, "May nag tanong sakin “idol bakit ka nag bebenta ng kung ano ano? Hindi bagay sayo.”
He also said that he isn't ashamed of his humble beginnings before he entered the music industry.
Gloc-9, or Aristotle Pollisco in real life, was a Nursing student before becoming a musician.
"Sabi ko sa kanya. Tol wala namang masama siguro doon diba? At alam mo ba na kasama sa trabaho ko noon bago ako mag rap ay mag linis ng basurahan, Kubeta at kanal? :))
Gloc-9 also reminded everyone to not be ashamed of their jobs as long as they are doing a decent means of earning a living.
He also encouraged netizens to work hard despite the limitations caused by the pandemic.
"Tandaan nyo mga Kababayan iba na ang panahon natin ngayon kailangan nating lumaban para mabuhay para sa mga Mahal natin.
"Wala kang dapat ikahiya kung ang trabaho mo ay marangal at wala kang tinatapakang kapwa mo. Kaya natin ito! APIR!!!"
Gloc-9 has also been using social media for selling items--from his official merchandise such as “Makata” jerseys to dishes such as fried chicken and dinuguan.
Gloc-9 is still active in creating music while selling products online.
The rapper recently released his new song titled “Ahon” with singer Bugoy Drilon as well as a collaboration with Julie Anne San Jose entitled "Bahaghari."
