Gloria Romero on MMFF Best Actres nod: “Hindi ko akalain sa edad kong 85 years old, makakatanggap pa ako ng ganitong award.”

Veteran actress Gloria Romero once again bagged the MMFF Best Actress award for the LGBT-themed movie Rainbow's Sunset.

Gloria's first MMFF Best Actress nod was in 2000 for family drama movie Tanging Yaman.

Receiving her award during this year's MMFF Gabi ng Parangal last night, Gloria said, “Nanginginig ako. What a pleasant surprise. Alam niyo napaka-gandang regalo nito, pamasko ko na ito. Salamat po.”

She continued, “Hindi ko akalain sa edad kong 85 years old, makakatanggap pa ako ng ganitong award.”

Rainbow's Sunset was awarded as this year's Best Picture.

Director Joel Lamangan, and actors Aiko Melendez and Tony Mabesa bagged the Best Director, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Supporting Actor awards, respectively.


Rainbow's Sunset and other MMFF Films will be screened in cinemas until January 7.
