Another milestone has been achieved by the Kapuso Network as GMA Batangas and GMA Regional TV Balitang Southern Tagalog are set to launch this February 14.

Beginning February 14, Kapuso viewers in the Southern Tagalog region will be updated with the latest news and happenings with the launch of GMA Batangas and its local newscast, GMA Regional TV Balitang Southern Tagalog.

According to First Vice President and Head of Regional TV and Synergy Oliver Amoroso, their mission is to deliver fresh and credible news stories to the masses in the Southern Tagalog region.

“Mga istoryang may puso at kapupulutan ng aral, hindi lamang nang iilan bagkus ng buong Timog Katagalugan. Sa GMA Regional TV, pinahahalagahan natin ang tunay na serbisyong publiko dahil naniniwala tayo na ang tunay na bida ay ang mga istorya,” he said in a press interview.

Amoroso also noted that GMA Batangas is their 11th Regional TV station and the fourth one established in Luzon. Meanwhile, GMA Regional TV Balitang Southern Tagalog is their 7th regional newscast and the 11th RTV-produced program in the Philippines.

For GMA Batangas Station Manager Darlene Mangubat, the goal of GMA Regional TV Balitang Southern Tagalog is to engage their audiences in Batangas, Laguna, Quezon, as well as some parts of Cavite and Mindoro with “up-to-dates within the locality.”

She shared, “Our reach extends to at least 11 cities and 54 municipalities, creating a pool of relevant information in the regions. At dahil po dito, mapapanood po ninyo ang mga eksklusibong balita tungkol sa inyong komunidad at mga karatig na bayan.”

As part of this regional TV newscast, news anchors Ace Medrano and Ivy Saunar-Gasang expressed their gratitude for the wonderful opportunity.

“Talagang nagpapasalamat tayo sa GMA para sa oportunidad na ito to be able to give back to the people by delivering the latest news na buong puso at may serbisyong totoo,” says Ivy.

More than grateful for the opportunity, Ace said, “Ibabalik naman natin 'yung buong puso nating serbisyo rin. Hindi lamang sa ating mga Kapuso, kundi sa mga kasama natin dito sa kumpanya. Dahil dito sa GMA, ang boss natin ang ating viewers.”

GMA Regional TV Balitang Southern Tagalog will also be aired on GMA Pinoy TV for Filipinos abroad to be informed of the latest happenings about their respective communities.
