GMA Execs and FILSCAP

GMA Network and FILSCAP have officially renewed their long-standing partnership through a contract signing.

GMA Network and the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers, Inc. (FILSCAP) officially sealed their collaboration with a contract signing to extend their partnership.

The renewal ceremony was held at the GMA Network Center on Tuesday, October 14.

The signing was attended by key executives from both GMA Network and FILSCAP, including GMA Network Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong, Senior Vice President for Finance and ICT Ronaldo P. Mastrili, FILSCAP Vice President Rodolfo “Tito” Cayamanda, and FILSCAP President Arturo “Nonoy Tan” Lui Pio.

The event highlighted both parties' continued commitment to supporting Filipino music creators and promoting original compositions across GMA's platforms.

“We would like to extend our gratitude to FILSCAP for extending our agreement for another four years,” Yalong said.

He added, “This is a testament of the relationship that we have for FILSCAP, from the time that we signed more than 20 years ago and up to now, and that is how we are grateful and honored to be part of this arrangement to give back to the original compositions.”

Lui Pio also expressed his “utmost gratitude” to the network for its trust in their longstanding partnership.

“I thank GMA 7 for recognizing the rise of the songwriters and looking back, GMA was the first one to sign up with FILSCAP, respecting copyright, so we would like to, with utmost gratitude, thank you GMA 7 for this partnership, and we look forward to more years of partnership and advancing the Filipino music worldwide,” he shared.

In 2020, the network renewed its Broadcast Music Public Performance License with FILSCAP. The five-year contract allows the Kapuso Network to use copyrighted music across GMA, GMA News TV, its digital channels, and in the webcast of its programs on GMA-owned or controlled websites.
