True to its vision and commitment to be the industry’s leader, GMA Network offers two new landmark programs that promote and celebrate Filipino literature, homegrown talent and social relevance.

GMA presents the first local animated anthology series on Philippine television, Alamat and the modern retelling of the popular folktale, Juan Tamad.

Alamat will feature well-known myths and legends in the country, including "Si Langgam at si Tipaklong," "Alamat ng Unang Bahaghari," and "Mariang Sinukuan."

Its first episode, ‘Alamat ng Bayabas,’ an animation produced entirely by the Kapuso network’s in-house post production team will air this June.

Giving voice to the characters are talented Kapuso artists and other personalities namely, Glaiza de Castro, Louise delos Reyes, Kylie Padilla, Betong Sumaya, Pekto, John Feir, Bea Binene, Jeric Gonzales, Pen Medina, Roi Vinzon, Love Anover, Maey Bautista and Tonipet Gaba.

Juan Tamad, on the other hand, is a hilarious reprise of the famous children story set in the present time. It follows the lives of Juan’s family of a slacker and the overachieving family of his ultimate crush, Marie. The show also delves into how the story’s hero changes the face of pop culture.

Bubble Gang regular and Sabado-badoo host Sef Cadayona will breathe life to the program’s central character Juan Tamad while his Bubble Gang co-star Max Collins will portray Marie.

Alamat and Juan Tamad will air on Sundays, soon on GMA.
