GMA Playlist brings together Kim Perez, Kim de Leon, Mitzi Josh, John Rex for a powerful mix of heartfelt ballads and uplifting anthems that explore love, regret, and the joy of real connections.
GMA Playlist is welcoming a new season this September with a fresh lineup of songs that dive deep into themes of love, remorse, and friendship. The collection includes heartfelt ballads from Sparkle artists as well as the official soundtracks of GMA Network's values campaign, Ganito Tayo, Kapuso: Masayahin.
The campaign tells the story of children absorbed in online gaming who, with the guidance of their parents, rediscover the joy of real-world connections. Its message of “masayahin” is captured in three tracks: “Ikaw Na Lang Ang Kulang,” “Basta't Magkasama Tayo,” and “Atin ang Mundo.”
Kapuso singer Mitzi Josh gives voice to the tender single "Ikaw Na Lang Ang Kulang," a piece written by Ann Margaret Figueroa that speaks of longing for genuine connection and the happiness found in the company of others. Mitzi also joins Kim de Leon and Seb Pajarillo in the upbeat collaboration "Basta't Magkasama Tayo," composed by Figueroa and Joshua Gapasin, which celebrates the simple joy of togetherness. The energy continues with "Atin ang Mundo," performed by Kim and Seb, composed by Figueroa and Kenneth Job Reodica, and mixed by Andrea Rae Culla. The track serves as an anthem of empowerment, reminding listeners of the world that can be rediscovered through shared experiences.
Beyond the campaign's music, GMA Playlist also offers stirring ballads that highlight raw emotion and regret. The Clash 2023 Grand Winner and Sparkle artist John Rex delivers "Kahit Wala Nang Tayo" for the GMA Afternoon Prime series Cruz vs. Cruz. Written by Roxanne E. Fabian and mixed by Harry A. Bernardino, the song echoes the deep guilt of Neil Ryan Sese's character Manuel, who grapples with the pain of betraying his wife. “The lyrics narrate his deep regret and the enduring love that remains even after trust is broken in their marriage.”
Another moving track comes from Kim Perez with "Huling Hinto," a rock ballad that faces the painful truth of endings and the longing for honesty from someone ready to let go. Composed by Rina Mercado and arranged by Roxanne E. Fabian, Kim delivers the song with raw sincerity that heightens its emotional weight.
