GMA Network commends Alessandra De Rossi for winning the Best Supporting Actress Award in the 36TH Gawad Urian held last June 18 at the NBC Tent in Bonifacio Global City.

Along with Gawad Urian, GMA Network takes pride in having Alessandra De Rossi as one of the entertainment industry’s accomplished actresses. Better known as Alex, she was seen in GMA Network’s family drama and fantasy-adventure series Home Sweet Home as the Ice Queen. Among her projects in the Kapuso Network, her role as Baby Umali in the primetime series Pahiram ng Sandali, an ambitious lady who became the mistress of Philip Reyes (Christopher De Leon), showed off her acting prowess. Not only that, she also brought tears to the Kapuso viewers when she portrayed the role of Russel Contemplacion in the episode Life After Death of Flor Contemplacion of the award-winning drama anthology Magpakailanman.

This well-admired Kapuso actress not only holds the record for being nominated three times in two categories in the 36th Gawad Urian but also the Best Actress award in the 1st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) International Film Festival and Awards held last March 28-30 in Sarawak, Malaysia.

Gawad Urian is given by the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino (MPP), a group composed of film critics and academicians. Members include Rolando Tolentino, Grace Javier Alfonso, Butch Francisco, Mario Hernando, Bienvenido Lumbera, Miguel Rapatan, Benilda Santos, Dr. Nicanor Tiongson, Tito Genova Valiente, and Lito Zulueta.
