Black Eyed Peas' show in Manila was filled with chart-topping hype songs fans have loved and vibed with for years.

Black Eyed Peas made an electrifying return on the Manila stage last August 27, Wednesday, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The American hip-hop group not only served beats and energy, but also nostalgia as they performed live some of their most iconic hits.

Filipino-American rapper EZ Mil set the vibe as he opened the show with “Up Down (Step & Walk),” and then delighted the crowd with his popular rap song, “Panalo (Trap Cariñosa).”

Black Eyed Peas took over the stage with “Let's Get It Started,” an apt song to open an energetic concert, followed by another hit song, “Boom Boom Pow.”

The members of Black Eyed Peas--Apl.de.ap, will.i.am, Taboo, and J. Rey Soul--introduced themselves in the middle of the trending “Rock That Body” before continuing to perform “RITMO (Bad Boys For Life).”

The one-night show is Black Eyed Peas' comeback concert in the Philippines. The group was last in the country in 2019 when they performed at the closing ceremony of the 30th Southeast Asian Games at New Clark Athletics Stadium in Tarlac.

The remarkable night was not only a celebration of their return but also a homecoming for Filipino-American rapper Apl.de.ap and singer J. Rey Soul.

J. Rey Soul, who has been a touring and session member of the group since 2018, started her journey in the reality singing competition show, The Voice Philippines.

Before performing the sultry “Mamacita,” J. Rey Soul thanked Apl.de.ap for changing her life from being a singer “from a small town in Laguna to now touring the world with the Black Eyed Peas.”

Each member also did their own stages with Taboo performing “EAST LA” and “IN THE AIR.”

Apl.de.ap came out in a modern barong by Filipino designer Francis Libiran before breaking into “The APL Song.” He also thanked the crowd for coming to the show and supporting Black Eyed Peas.

“I'm so excited right now, I'm lost for words. But I'm so proud to be back home, to the country I love. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!” Apl.de.ap said.

Apl.de.ap further surprised the Filipino fans with a special performance with K-pop star and 2NE1 member Sandara Park of “2 Proud,” their collaborative song.

He also performed “Mare,” followed by the iconic “Bebot,” where he was joined by EZ Mil on stage.

will.i.am, meanwhile, performed “Scream & Shout,” his song with Britney Spears, and “OMG,” his song with Usher.

The concert continued with more of their popular and loved hit songs, “Pump It,” “Don't Stop The Party,” “The Time (Dirty Bit),” and “Where Is The Love?”

Apl.de.ap even dedicated “Where Is The Love?” to the local farmers.

“This song is dedicated to all the farmers na nahihirapan. Farmers should be rockstars, right? We should support our farmers,” he said, and talked about his project of planting 100 million coconut trees in the country.

He added, “Maraming salamat to you, guys, for always supporting the Black Eyed Peas. Simula hanggang sa dulo, maraming salamat. With all the changes that occur with the Black Eyed Peas, and you guys are still there, I just wanna say maraming, maraming salamat.”

At the latter part of the concert, Apl.de.ap and will.i.am brought their moms, Cristina and Debra, on stage to show them their appreciation.

The electrifying and nostalgic show closed with the group hyping and thanking the crowd with “I Gotta Feeling,” “Just Can't Get Enough,” and “Imma Be.”
