Last December 3, K-pop boy group ENHYPEN dropped by the Philippines to meet with their Filo ENGENEs for the first time ever!
The fourth-generation K-pop boy band made their debut last 2020 at the height of the pandemic, making it a challenge to see their fans in person. But now that restrictions are easing and traveling is once again permitted, ENHYPEN immediately hopped on the plane to meet their ENGENEs all over the world.
In celebration of local cosmetic brand BYS's 10th anniversary, they invited ENHYPEN to hold a fan meet event with their Filo ENGENEs who have been long awaiting their arrival in the country. The festivities started with performances from P-pop groups VXON and G22, as well as a song and dance number from Cassy Legaspi's rumored boyfriend Darren Espanto.
As soon as ENHYPEN entered the stage, Filo ENGENEs could not contain their excitement over their first meeting with the K-pop group. Loud screams take over the entire Araneta Coliseum and all the members were left astonished. All the way from Gen Ad to the VIP section, ENHYPEN felt all the love and support from their fans.
And because it was a fan meet after all, Filo ENGENEs got to know their favorite K-pop idols more through a series of activities BYS prepared for ENHYPEN. With the help of famous host Sam Oh, fans got to witness the members of the K-pop boy band in a different light. They answered personal questions, serenaded their fans with their famous song “Polaroid Love,” and even got to play charades with them.
With the help of Filo ENGENEs, ENHYPEN members Jake, Jay, Heeseung, Jungwon, Sunghoon, Ni-ki, and Sunoo also got to speak in Filipino and say phrases such as, “Kumain ka ng mabuti at matulog nang mahimbing (Eat well, sleep well),” “Mahal kita (I love you),” and “Masaya kami kasama ang ENGENEs ngayon (We are happy to be with ENGENEs today).”
ENHYPEN also got a glimpse of their growth through the years as the organizers flashed a series of their videos on the big screen. From their performance on the Kelly Clarkson Show to their video cuddling a few cats, the members felt the change that has occurred over the past two years.
Filo ENGENEs could not have been more proud of their boys and gifted them with a short video featuring the events the fans organized to celebrate the small and big wins of the group. Touched by the sweet gesture, ENHYPEN thanked their fans through a sleek performance of their song “ParadoXXX Invasion” and a promise to return.
As they bid their goodbyes to Filo ENGENEs, Jake said, “We're coming back next year so please stay tuned. See you in February and mahal kita.”
ENHYPEN will be coming back to the Philippines from February 4 to 5, 2023 to hold a concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Don't miss out on the chance to see these boys perform live!
