Get ready for another powerhouse rap comeback as Gloc-9 and Abaddon team up for an iconic collaboration.
On October 9, the duo officially announced their upcoming album Project A, which features 10 well-loved tracks created by the artists themselves.
Included in the album are previously released songs such as the supportive allies-themed “Kakampi” and the not so typical love song “Bonethugs.”
In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, Gloc-9 opened up about the story behind the project.
"Inspiration," Gloc-9 said, describing the album.
"Kasi iyan ang hirap hanapin ngayon. In my case dahil sa pagsusulat ng kanta. Kasi parang dami ko nang nasulat masyado. Minsan nahihirapan na kong mag-isip kung ano pa puwede sulatin. Na-inspire talaga ako kay Abaddon nung pinagkasunduan namin gawin 'yung Project A."
He also expressed admiration for Abaddon's passion for music. Even during casual discussions about drafts, Abaddon showcased his ability to create almost fully formed songs.
Meanwhile at the press conference, Abaddon shared how the collaboration pushed him to new limits and grow as an artist.
"Talagang nag-expirement po talaga ako. 'Di po 'to yung normal na Abaddon lang talaga 'yung mga tulad ng ginagawa ko dating kanta. Gumawa po talaga ako ng pakanta. As in 'di na siya rap. Talagang chinallenge ko dito 'yung sarili ko. Kasi pagkakataon ko talaga ito makasama ko po si master (Gloc-9)," he said.
With both artists blending their inspiration and unique styles, each track promises a fresh mix of energy and emotion.
"Kahit ako nagugulat ako na 'Parang okay yata ginawa namin ngayon.' Minsan kasi matagal ko nang na-record 'yung song so wala na akong idea sa ginawa ko. So 'pag na-release 'yung kanta namin ni Abaddon and then maririnig ko siya, parang akong nakakarinig ng artist na bago ko palang narinig which is very refreshing for me, Gloc-9 shared.
Tracks from Project A are now available on digital streaming platforms, with the full album set to officially drop on October 17.
