Russel Peters

It surely was a night for jokes and smiles!

Comedian Russell Peters recently delivered a night filled with laughter and good vibes in his RELAX* World Tour (*It's not that serious) in Manila.

Presented by Wilbros Live, the show lit up the Samsung Hall at SM Aura, Taguig on April 15.

It drew a lively crowd of both Filipinos and foreigners, all eager to witness one of Rolling Stone's 50 Best Stand-Up Comics of All Time do what he does best: make people laugh until they cry.

Even before the main event, the energy was high as DJ Starting From Scratch hyped up the audience with throwback hits. From the Filipino favorite "Bebot" (by The Black Eyed Peas) to "Uptown Funk" (by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars), and Dua Lipa's "Dance The Night," the pre-show playlist had fans grooving and singing along in anticipation.

Opening the night was stand-up comedian Adam Hunter, who quickly warmed up the crowd with his high-energy and playful crowd interaction.

"It's nice to be here! Manila how are you? You guys good? I love it here!" Adam greeted, sparking cheers from the audience.

He had fans in stitches just by introducing himself, casually slipping in some random jokes. He also made everyone cheer with his witty observations and sudden comments on attendees.

After a good laugh, then came the man of the hour--Russell Peters!

As soon as he stepped on stage, the comic powerhouse jumped straight into his signature crowd banter.

"Kumusta ka f*ckers?" Russell greeted jokingly. "It's good to see you guys."

True to form, Russell didn't hold back. He seamlessly weaved in crowd interactions, local culture references, and his trademark observational comedy.

The comedian playfully acknowledged the mix of nationalities in the audience, even poking fun at fellow Asian foreigners who he joked, “closed the store early just to be here.”

His set was packed with hilarious takes on race, culture, family, and daily life--sprinkled with Tagalog phrases and Pinoy humor that earned massive laughs from the crowd. Both locals and visiting foreigners, especially Indians and Westerns, were left chuckling over relatable punchlines and exaggerated impressions.

By the end of the night, the audience didn't want the laughter to end. Though the show wrapped up, fans walked away smiling and thoroughly entertained by Russell's unmatched comedic timing and charm.
