Netizens were shocked by the news on Wednesday morning, October 2, that the iconic amusement park Star City in Pasay was hit by fire.

People expressed their horror on Twitter after several photos and videos of a burning Star City quickly went viral.

In a report by GMA News Online, the amusement park will be closed this Christmas season because 60% of the compound was gutted in the fire.

Star City literally gave me life. My mom and Dad met there. My father worked there until he retired 2 years ago, and reading news about this makes me sad. All my great childhood memories, my enjoyable time with my HS, college, and even my korean students were made there.
