Jackson Wang

GOT7's Jackson is back with a new track and a music video that's set in a dystopian world.

K-pop boy group GOT7's Jackson Wang is giving us a glimpse of his alter ego in the newly released music video of his song “Cruel”.

"Cruel" features a rough, rock-pop tune which Jackson describes as “the perfect representation of the distorted and warped story that I am trying to unfold. It is the opus to a wild yet beautiful symphony.”

First unveiled at Jackson's Coachella set with 88rising, "Cruel" is said to be produced by well-acclaimed artists such as Cambo (Doja Cat), Floyd Fuji (Kanye West, Anderson .Paak), Roland Gajate Garcia (Camilla Cabello, Kanye West), and LOUALLDAY.

The accompanying music video is set in a dystopian world and showcases a fire-breathing Jackson covered in ashes. While he battles soul-sucking women, Jackson performs sleek dance moves. The choreography for the MV is said to be created by Jackson, himself, and Vinh Nguyen with the direction of Rich Lee (Billie Eilish, Eminem, Lana del Rey).

"Cruel" is a pre-released track for Jackson's upcoming album “MAGIC MAN”. The new album will include the following tracks: “Blow”, “Cruel”, “Champagne Cool”, “Go Ghost”, “Drive It Like You Stole It”, “Come Alive”, “Just Like Magic”, “All The Way”, “Dopamine”, and “Blue”.

Expect to see Jackson at his most vulnerable state, “exploring what it means to be human and stripped away of any armor” through MAGIC MAN. Combine Western talent with the genius that Jackson Wang is and you'll, without a doubt, get music at its finest.

Produced by Jackson Wang, Daryl K, and Henry Cheung, "MAGIC MAN" is set to be released this September 9.

Congratulations, Jackson. We can't wait to hear your roaster of new music!
