The heartfelt mission of the award-winning film Green Bones continues, this time reaching the hearts and minds of hardworking campus students.
Recently, the inspirational drama film held a special screening at Adamson University. Students were treated not only to the film's moving story but also to a talkback session with its screenplay writer Anj Atienza and concept creator JC Rubio.
It speaks of the same injustices that we show," Anj shared during the discussion.
Inspired students eagerly participated, asking thoughtful questions that deepened their understanding of the film's themes, social commentary, and creative process.
The talk also opened a discussion related to the current political landscape in the Philippines.
"I think it's a good start to look into the marginalized sector of the society na itong film na Green Bones, ay tumalakay sa mga hinaing, sa mga kuwento ng persons deprived of liberty (PDL)," JC explained in an interview.
"I think doon nagsta-start, e. "
Anj also reflected on how the film serves as an eye-opener to social injustices.
In closing, Anj encouraged viewers to be more like Xavier, portrayed by Ruru Madrid, who embodies the courage to seek true justice for both the victims and the guilty.
