Green Bones contender for Philippines Oscar 2026 entry

Along with other Filipino films, 'Green Bones' is one of the contenders for Oscar entry!

Award-winning film Green Bones continues to soar higher than ever, spreading inspiration not only locally but also internationally.

Carrying Filipino culture and pride, the inspirational-drama film is set to represent the country on an even bigger stage.

Recently, Green Bones was officially announced as one of the contenders for the Philippines' 2026 Oscar entry.

Joining the roster of proudly Filipino-made films are other notable titles, including the highly successful Hello, Love, Again, top-billed by Phenomenal Box-Office King and Queen Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo.

Also part of the lineup are: Sunshine (Tonet Jadaone), Food Delivery: Fresh from the West Philippine Sea (Baby Ruth Villarama), Magellan (Lav Diaz), Song of the Fireflies (King Palisoc), and Some Nights I Feel Like Walking (Petersen Vargas).

"A story worth sharing with the world -- reminding us that even in the darkest places, humanity endures. Green Bones challenges us to look deeper and question our ideas of justice and redemption," GMA Pictures wrote.

"We also extend our warmest congratulations to the [six] other incredible films in contention. It's an honor to stand alongside such world-class Filipino cinema."

It also won in the 8th Entertainment Editors' Choice Awards (The EDDYS) and got several nominations from the 73rd Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards.
