Gumapang Ka sa Lusak reunites Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado as a love team, for the first time since their episode of
Now and Forever.
At the press conference for the said show, Miss Lilybeth Rasonable (AVP for Drama, Entertainment TV) shares with everyone that "we are happy to bring them back together dito."
With a seasoned cast that includes Sandy Andolong, Al Tantay, Glydel Mercado, Lotlot de Leon, Julio Diaz and the returning Michael Sandico, the show promises that it will be like no other on television today. Completing the cast are homegrown talents Ryza Cenon, Mart Escudero, Vaness del Moral, Prince Stefan, and introducing Shaun Rodriguez of
Survivor Philippines: Palau.
To direct this new masterpiece, Miss Lilybeth announces that "we are also very happy to have Maryo J. delos Reyes back in
Sine Novela."
Gumapang Ka sa Lusak would be Director Maryo J. delos Reyes's fourth
Sine Novela, after breaking daytime ratings records with
Saan Darating ang Umaga? and
Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?, while reuniting Direk Maryo with the production team of his first
Sine Novela,
Magdusa Ka, a show that earned acclaim from the International Emmys.
And just like previous
Sine Novelas, Direk Maryo quickly tells the press that the show will definitely not be the same as the movie.

"Siguro 'yung pinaka-storyline, at saka 'yung pinaka-objective ng pelikula, faithful," he explained, quickly adding that there will be new conflicts, complications, and definitely, new characters. "We have to sustain the interest for 16 weeks; and I feel my writers did a very, very good job."
Kuwento nga ng director, "Draft pa lang, exciting [na]! Kasi mayroon siyang mga elemento ng soap opera na talagang susubaybayan mo."
With the ingredients of a top-rating soap in place, will
Gumapang Ka sa Lusak manage to dominate the daytime rating race? You will be the judge. Catch the new show when it premieres on February 8 on GMA-7's Dramarama sa Hapon, replacing
Kaya Kong Abutin ang Langit.
