Calling all the Harry Potter fans! Avalanche Software and Sony Interactive Entertainment have released the 15-minute State of Play video of the highly anticipated Hogwarts Legacy.

The game, based on the bestselling books of JK Rowling, is an immersive, open-world action RPG set in the world first introduced in the Harry Potter books. For the first time, players will experience Hogwarts in the 1800s.

Since the State of Play video was uploaded on March 18, it has accumulated over 4.8 million views as of writing, with Harry Potter fans and game aficionados raving over Hogwarts Legacy.

In another promotional video, game director Alan Tew said, “We've really wanted to make sure that anything we add or anything we play with or anything we explore, really feels authentic.”

Meanwhile, senior environment artist Boston Madsen added, “Bringing to life just the charm and the love, everything we have to the books and then marrying that with the iconic experiences from the movies that fans will recognize is really just the perfect handshake between the two.”

For those who want to experience the thrill and magic of Hogwarts Legacy, the game is set to be released during the 2022 holiday season.

Meanwhile, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore starring Eddie Redmayne, Mads Mikkelsen, and Jude Law is set to premiere next month.
