Viewers watching the high-rating program Fast Talk with Boy Abunda (FTWBA) were worried after seeing comedian-actor Boobay (Norman Balbuena in real life) suddenly stopped talking in the middle of his interview yesterday, April 20.

After the commercial break, Boobay was back to his jolly self and shared to Tito Boy that he also experienced the same thing while taping for The Boobay and Tekla Show last April 19.

Boobay told Boy, “Kahapon nagte-taping kami, bigla akong medyo nag-hang sa aming shoot sa 'The Boobay and Tekla Show' siguro dahil sa ilaw din at the same time siguro konti pa ang tulog ko no'n, na maling-mali sa ginawa ko--na dapat talaga bago ka pumunta sa isang trabaho hindi ka muna kukuha ng ibang trabaho pa.”

Back in 2016, the Kapuso comedian suffered a stroke.

He continued, “Sinabi naman ng doktor ko na after ng nangyari sa akin noon ay maaring mag-hang ako and the best thing that you have to do is parang mag-stop ka lang and hayaan mong bumalik sa dati 'yung mga pag-ikot [ng sistema] mo.”

Boobay's name became a top trending topic on Twitter Philippines until Friday morning, April 21 and users were wishing him well, after what happened.

One netizen even praised Boy Abunda for noticing that something was wrong with his guest and called for an immediate commercial break.

FTWBA posted another update on their social media accounts, wherein they stated that after being checked by a doctor, the initial finding was that Boobay suffered a mild seizure.

“Pagkatapos ng live episode, agad na sinuri ng doktor si Boobay. Dito sinabi na mild seizure ang nangyari kay Boobay. Maayos ang kaniyang vital signs pero pinayuhan siya na magpatingin agad sa kaniyang doktor.”

According to Mayoclinic.org, seizures can happen after a stroke or a head injury. They also may be caused by an infection such as meningitis or another illness.
