American singer-songwriter Christopher Cross says he is currently "unable to walk" after contracting COVID-19.

American singer and songwriter Christopher Cross has released a statement about his current battle against COVID-19.

He wrote about finding out he has COVID-19 and how it took him a while to get the test.

Celebrities and personalities who have recovered from COVID-19

"I had become very ill but fortunately I did not develop respiratory complications. I feel so sad about all the souls lost to this pandemic.

He also exaplained that although he has started to recover, he is suffering from intense muscle weakness and a temporary paralysis of his legs--making him unable to walk.

On a brighter note he said, "However, physicians have assurd me that I will recover. I have already begun physical therapy and am optimistic about improving.

He ended his post by saying, "I wanted to let you know my situation, and that I will get past this.

"I look forward to beginning my 40th Anniversary tour soon and when I do, I hope to see you all."


Cross, who is known for his songs "Sailing" and "Arthur's Theme," is among the 2.3 million people confirmed with COVID-19 globally as of Monday.

Over 157,000 people around the world have died due to the disease.

Meanwhile, the Philippines has 6,599 confirmed cases, 428 deaths, and 654 recoveries as of April 21.
