Arjo Atayde, who was in a lock-in taping in Baguio, was rushed to a hospital in Manila after testing positive for COVID-19.

Film outfit Feelmaking Productions Inc. issues a statement on the alleged breach of COVID-19 protocols of actor Arjo Atayde.

The statement was released following the interview of Mayor Benjamin Magalong, who confirmed that Arjo and nine of his co-workers have tested positive for COVID-19 while in a lock-in taping in Baguio City.

According to Ellen Criste, Head of Production, the health condition of Arjo needed immediate medical attention after he tested positive for COVID-19.

They also stressed that the TV-movie actor had a pre-existing medical condition and was already having a hard-time breathing as well.

Part of the statement read, “Arjo Atayde tested positive for COVID-19 as shooting for his new film culminated in Baguio last August 16. Arjo was suffering from high fever, and difficulty in breathing.

“It was the mutual decision of Feelmaking productions Inc., Arjo's parents, and doctors to rush the actor, who has pre-existing medical condition, straight to a hospital in Manila on August 17.”

Moreover, Feelmaking Productions has already extended assistance to the nine others who are asymptomatic and is currently under quarantine.

“We have provided assistance for nine others who tested positive for COVID-19 but are asymptomatic and are currently in quarantine. We likewise coordinated with the local officials for the necessary safety protocols.”

The film production company also revealed that the family of Arjo Atayde is coordinating with the office of Baguio City Mayor Magalong.

“The Atayde family has reached out to Mayor Benjamin Magalong and we assure him and the people of Baguio that we will comply with our commitments to the City.”

Arjo is the son of highly-respected TV-movie star Sylvia Sanchez.

In a previous interview, Mayor Magalong expressed his disappointment and claimed that certain health protocols were violated by the production company.

He said, "They committed to us na magkakaroon sila ng bubble, pero hindi nangyari. Nagkataon pala na may mga tao sila na umuwi sa lugar at pagbalik ay hindi nagti-triage.

"'Tapos yung monthly testing na commitment nila, hindi nila nagawa."

Meanwhile, here are other celebrities who tested positive during the surge early this year:
