Heart Evangelista in toni and guy event in Rockwell

The global fashion icon Heart Evangelista is noticeably radiant at the recent event of a world-class brand.

Global fashion icon Heart Evangelista has always been at the forefront of big Fashion and Beauty events, whether they're happening here or abroad. That's why it was not a surprise to see the Kapuso star showing up at a world-class hair and fashion spectacle held recently at The Fifth in Rockwell, Makati City.

The big 'hair and fashion' celebration, mounted by leading international chain of hairdressing salons TONI&GUY, gathered some prominent names in the realms of fashion, beauty, entertainment, and sports. Spotted at the event were Rajo Laurel, Teresa Herrera, Cristalle Belo-Pitt, Ces Drilon, Nicole Hernandez, Christian Bautista, Ciara Sotto, Miss Philippines Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco, actor Rocco Nacino, athlete Melissa Gohing, TONI&GUY Philippines Chairman Chot Reyes and GILAS Pilipinas Coach Tim Cone.

“This has been a long and fulfilling personal journey that has been more than two decades in the making,” said Cherry Reyes, Founder and Managing Director of TONI&GUY Philippines.

The event attendees were treated to a real-time hair and fashion exhibition as the world's top hairdressers showcased their expertise on stage.

Leading the lineup were: Cos Sakkas, the brand's Global Creative Director, three-time International Hairdresser of the Year, and two-time British Hairdresser of the Year (2022 & 2023); Bill Watson, Educational Director of TONI&GUY China and Southern Hemisphere; Francesco Fontana, International Color Educational Director; and Efi Davies, the brand's International Artistic Director and winner of the 2024 Best International Avant-Garde Collection.

These hair experts shared invaluable insights and techniques, covering everything from cutting and styling to color and scalp care, tailored to individual hair textures and face shapes.

Cos Sakkas took the lead in unveiling the four-part show concept. The first section, "Hair at TONI&GUY," celebrated the brand's iconic heritage, focused on versatile hairstyles for all hair lengths and featuring innovative color techniques like balayage and highlights. This collection paid homage to the brand's inaugural 1976 campaign of the same name.

“It's all about inclusivity led by gender-fluid styles. We now have a selection of color techniques and color palettes that allow people to express themselves and their freedom,” announced Francesco Fontana, International Color Educational Director.

The second part, the “Editorial” section, champions the brand's 20-year partnership with London Fashion Week, emphasizing the brand's role in shaping hair trends on the global fashion stage.

Sakkas reinforces the importance of collaborating with designers to create a cohesive hair and fashion dynamic.

Bill Watson, Educational Director of the brand's China and Southern Hemisphere points out his company's core values of teamwork, attention to detail, and people-centric approach as the driving forces behind their extraordinary achievements.

He explained: “when we do international shows, we incorporate team members from all over the world to help us in the production process. So that means all creative ideas must be shared by the whole team. That's how you get consistency.”

The third segment, "Unfold," was dedicated to hairdressers, pushing the creative edge with experimental cuts and colors. This section served as an educational platform for the industry, presenting innovative styling techniques.

The final part, “Avant Garde,” showcased the pinnacle of hair artistry, featuring fantastical and imaginative hairstyles.

Led by Avant Garde Hairdresser of the Year, Efi Davis, the finale embodied the brand's reputation for going beyond creative boundaries and redefining hair and fashion like never before.

Davies also underscored the transformative power of hairstyling: “the face-framing is going to bring out your facial characteristics, a fringe can change your face shape. It can bring the eyes further apart, or the eyes closer together. It can lower the hairline or higher or it can emphasize the cheekbones.”

“Hair is supposed to live with you, within your lifestyle. We want the hair to be touchable, make it wearable, and for the wearer to be able to flirt with their own hair. That is what we are all about,” says Sakkas.
