Global fashion icon na si Heart Evangelista gave her two cents about the topic of green flag and red flag when it comes to friendship.
The premiere Sparkle talent was Your Honor's guest on Saturday (August 15), and she poured her heart out as she answered the questions of Chariz Solomon and Buboy Villar.
During the session, Heart stated that she really doesn't identify if someone is a good friend or not since she was craving for friends when she was much younger.
Talking about her bullying experience in school, the Kapuso star recalled, “Yun siguro 'yung curse ko. Hindi ko talaga nabibigyan ng kulay ang mga flags pagdating sa friendship.”
“I-back story ko lang. Dati kasi sa school medyo bullied ako, e. As in tahimik lang ako, pero naka-choker ako. So, misunderstood ako nung bata ako.”
“So nung nag-showbiz ako, nagkaroon ako ng maraming kaibigan parang ang saya ko lang na ang dami kong friends. So, 'pag meron akong nafi-feel kahit konti, mag-a-adjust ako and never ko silang nakita as red flags.”
Now that she has gotten wiser with age, Heart shared to the House of Honorables that she knows that she is in good hands with her current circle of friends.
“Pero siyempre now as I have gotten older, siguro 'yung more or less wala pa akong nakikita at wala akong makikitang red flags, in Jesus' name, sa mga friendship ko ngayon. Siguro, when you're successful, lahat sila happy sa 'yo. When you're low nandiyan din sila. Pero sometimes, the ultimate high of success doon mo mararamdaman kung sino talaga ang mga kaibigan mo. Kasi, you will see who is truly happy for you or you will feel who is someone that is trying to set you up to fail. So I feel like dun mo malalaman 'yun.”
Heart Evangelista also remembered the words of her good friend, the late Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago.
Senator Santiago told the fashion icon then, “You know, Heart, it's lonely on top. So, you're really lonely when you have almost everything. Because not everybody will be happy for you. Sometimes nandiyan lang sila para pagmasdan ka o alam mo 'yun, may mga evil intention.”
