Heart Evangelista could not be prouder that her husband, Senator Chiz Escudero, will be leading the Senate as its newest President.
Kapuso actress and fashion icon Heart Evangelista couldn't be more proud of her husband, Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero who recently took over the position as the country's newest Senate President after Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri resigned from his post.
On Instagram, Heart posted a photo of Chiz taking his oath as she stood at the side, with a short but sweet message.
“Mr Senate President @escuderochiz I am so proud of you,” she wrote.
Chiz also expressed how honored he is to be chosen as Senate President on his Instagram account, ang thanked his fellow senators for giving him the trust and opportunity to lead the Senate.
“Makakaasa kayo na sa aking pamumuno, ipagpapatuloy natin ang pagsasabatas ng mga panukalang nagsusulong na maiangat ang buhay ng bawat Pilipino,” he said.
He added that he will be working with the Executive Branch in serving and developing the country.
He then gave a short message to his predecessor, “Nais ko ring magpasalamat at magbigay-pugay sa aking predecessor na si Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri sa mga nakamit ng Senado sa ilalim ng kanyang liderato.”
Chiz was nominated to be the helm of the senate by Senator Allan Peter Cayetano with no objections from the 24-person chamber and was elected to be its new chief.

His oath-taking was administered by Senator Mark Villar, and thanked his predecessor for his patience, diligence, and his love for the country. Chiz then gave assurance that there will be no division among the senators despite the change in leadership.
“Walang my team, walang your team para sa akin. Walang SP Migz, wala ring Chiz para sa akin. Ang tingin ko sa bawat isa sa atin ay mga miyembro ng nag-iisang Senado,” he said.
Senator Zubiri resigned from his position as Senate President on Monday, two days before the end of the second regular session of the 19th Congress, and said that he will be an independent member of the Senate.
