Heart Evangelista: “I could've helped so much more people or I could have shared more to people.” Find out why she opted for a smaller Christmas tree this year HERE:

Realizations during the pandemic

The Queen of Creative Collaborations said that just like everyone else, she's had a lot of realizations during the lockdown. Two of which are that staying optimistic is crucial to get through tough times, and that one must remain thankful for all the blessings despite the uncertainties and difficulties.

“Hope will really save you, just really holding on to that thought that this too shall pass. We've seen it in history books that it will end one day. But in the meantime, we just have to stay calm.

“I know that's really hard, but it's the only way to cope… to have hope, stay calm, give yourself more love, and give everybody that's around you more love."

“And another realization is, you know, we were never promised to be in this world forever. And so, we should be really grateful for what we have, may it be small or big. We are so blessed, all of us.”

Heart also believes that many people have developed a newfound appreciation for the simple things in life, most of which were often taken for granted before the pandemic hit.

“Parang yung expectation din ng lahat ng tao sa gusto nilang gawin sa buhay nila after nito, parang hindi na siya 'yung, 'Gusto ko ganito, ganyan.' They'll be a bit more simpler.

"The simple things in life are what matter.”

What Heart regrets not doing before the pandemic

The multi-talented artist also revealed what she would've done had she known that a pandemic was going to happen in 2020.

“I wish I could've saved a little bit more and I could've lessen a little bit my--umenter 'yung asawa ko because… hindi ko tuloy ma-utter 'yung words-- (whispers) I could've lessened my shopping a little bit more.

“Because I feel that during this pandemic, a lot of people are, you know, really going through a tough time, and I feel like God kind of uses certain people so they can be a channel of blessings to others.

“Why am I, you know, blessed with things or with work or ganyan? Maybe because God knows that through me, sure na mapupunta siya sa okay.

“And I feel that given the platform that I have--I'm not saying it's a huge platform--but with whatever platform I have, I could've helped so much more people or I could have shared more to people. But it won't stop me from doing what I can.”

And, another regret is not extending her vacations abroad before the pandemic struck.

“I should've given myself extra two more days for each country that I visited when I went to Fashion Week. Just extra two more days would've made a huge difference.”

Christmas amid the pandemic

Heart also talked about how she plans to celebrate Christmas this year amid the ongoing global health crisis.

“I actually have no idea, but I definitely changed my big, big tree, which was almost half of this room to that little tree over there. It's like a plant.

“That's how small my Christmas tree is because I guess there's just so much work, and you know, it's just complicated these days. But I still wanted to put a symbol of, you know, Christmas in our home.”

“And I'm not really sure if I'm gonna spend Christmas here (Manila) because as much as possible I want to be with as many relatives as possible. So, baka sa Sorsogon kami magki-Christmas.”
