Heart Evangelista has always been a daddy's girl.
The youngest among five daughters in the Ongpauco clan, Heart reveals in her Instagram post on June 17 that her father, Reynaldo Ongpauco, was actually expecting a girl before she was born.
"When I wasn't born yet, Dad thought he was expecting a son... Well, obviously things didn't turn out that way."
But even if that was the case, Heart says it didn't stop Reynaldo and her from having "boyish" adventures.
"At a young age, he'd let me tag along with him to see how boats are made. We went fishing, and hiking with our dogs."
She even attributed her love for animals to her dad.
"He even showed me how to help our dogs deliver their pups. That's probably why I adore animals so much."
She thanked him for raising her to become a softie and a toughie at the same time.
"To my loving Dad, thank you for teaching me how to be a softy-but-also-a-toughy kind of girl. Proud to call you my dad! #HappyFathersDay #DaddysGirl."
