Kapuso actress Heart Evangelista found another way to make Christmas merrier after spending a meaningful day with thalassemia patients.
Heart shared a video online that captured her day with Batha Thalassemia in time for the holidays.
“Twenty years later, and my heart still belongs to them,” Heart wrote online.
According to Heart, this is her favorite tradition.
“Spending the holidays with my Batha Thalassemia family is my favorite tradition,” said the Kapuso actress. “My simple prayer is for their health and happiness, always.”
In the same Instagram post, Heart encouraged fans and netizens to help spread awareness about thalassemia.
It is a genetic blood disorder that causes the body to have less hemoglobin than usual, which requires patients to undergo lifelong blood transfusions.
Heart said in her online post, “I'll be here until I'm old and gray, but I need your help. Together, we can create the awareness they need to thrive.”
“Let's share our blessings and make this Christmas mean more to these brave souls,” she added.
