December 1 is Worlds AIDS Day. The Kapuso Network unites with the rest of the world in showing our love and support for people living with HIV and AIDS.

We hope that all awareness and prevention efforts will eventually pay off, and that there will be lower infection rates in our country in the months and years to come.

We also pray that the ultimate cure for HIV and AIDS will soon be discovered, so that no one among us would have to experience losing a friend or loved one to the disease.

Below are the words of encouragement from Kapuso celebrities:

Heart Evangelista

“There shouldn't be a stigma. We shouldn't be ignorant about it.”

Valeen Montenegro

“I have met people who are HIV positive. I'm thankful for them, especially the responsible ones who are trying to heal themselves. 'Tsaka sana magkaroon ng more awareness 'yung ibang tao.”

Prince Clemente

“Don't lose hope. Malay natin in the next few years magkaroon na ng cure sa HIV. Kapit lang.”

Bea Binene

“Hanga ako sa lakas nila and I wish them well. Sana maging mas knowledgeable ang lahat about HIV and AIDS para mabawasan ang discrimination against people living with HIV.”

Jenzel Angeles

“Tell your family and your close friends, para matulungan ka rin nila. Sa mga may friends na HIV positive, you need to accept them and help them go through with life."

Yasmien Kurdi

“Nagkaroon ako ng show dati where I played the role of an HIV positive person, 'yung Hindi Ko Kayang Iwan Ka. Ako si Thea Balagtas doon at naging challenging yung role na 'yun for me. Nakakilala ako ng maraming tao na living with HIV because of that role.

“Ngayon naman kasi may mga medication na for HIV. Our government provides medication for those who are diagnosed with Stage 1 HIV infection, para bumaba yung viral count nila. It could go down to the point that it is no longer detectable sa katawan mo.

"Siyempre, you have to love yourself pa rin. Take care of yourself. Dapat healthy living ka na. 'Wag ka magbibisyo. Basta mahalin at alagaan mo lang ang sarili mo. Kapag ginawa mo 'yun, mamahalin ka rin ng katawan mo and you'll live a longer life.”
