Herlene Budol

'Magpakailanman' honors the strength and devotion of women through the inspiring story of a mother in the episode “Ang Tanging Ina ni Herlene.”

Sparkle star Herlene Budol is set to portray the story of her own mother this Saturday, March 21. Joining her in this feature are Jay Arcilla, Anthony Falcon, Kimson Tan, Marife Necesito, Dani Ozaraga, Lhen Timbol, and Juancho Triviño.

The episode follows the colorful journey of Lhen, an aspiring beauty queen who endured countless heartbreaks and rejections. Her life takes a different turn when she meets Ibhe, who would later become the father of Herlene. But instead of joy, Lhen faces deeper struggles due to Ibhe's jealousy and joblessness.

When Herlene was just six years old, Lhen decided to leave her behind to work and provide for her three other children from a previous relationship. This sacrifice left Herlene with years of resentment toward her mother.

Yet in time, Herlene would fulfill Lhen's long-held dream of becoming a beauty queen when she was crowned Binibining Angono—a triumph that healed old wounds and honored her mother's sacrifices.

Directed by Mark Sicat Dela Cruz, written by Tina Samson Velasco, and researched by Cynthia Delos Santos, this story reminds viewers that even the deepest scars can be healed with time, love, and resilience.

Catch Magpakailanman every Saturday at 8:15 p.m. on GMA-7. Global Pinoys can also catch the program via GMA Pinoy TV.
