Hindley Street Country Club

HSCC co-founder Constantine Delo on the Philippines: 'This country has been so, so good to HSCC.'

Australian group Hindley Street Country Club (HSCC), known as the "World's Greatest Cover Band," has arrived in Manila for their much-anticipated concert this Sunday, September 29.

In an interview last Wednesday (September 25), the band shared their excitement to finally meet their Filipino fans, highlighting the Philippines as a must-visit country due to the overwhelming support they've received.

"We're very fortunate that the genre of the music that we play like the late '70s to the mid '80s and a couple of modern ones has been embraced globally but not like the Philippines. The Philippines just basically threw its hands wide open and just hugged us for so many many years. We've been trying to get to the Philippines for a long, long time," Constantine Delo said.

He added, "This country has been so, so good to HSCC. It's our biggest market in the world and we're talking billions of views across our platform. Billions, not just on YouTube. We're looking at TikTok, Insta[gram], all our social media platforms, and obviously we can see our analytics, Philippines comes up every time."

One of their vocalists, Jordan Lennon, expressed his love as well for the tropical country and even knew Filipino songs "Manila" (Hotdog) and "Katawan" (Hagibis).

"I played a gig in Adelaide [Australia] on drums when Hagibis came to Adelaide. So I was in the backing band for Hagibis. 'Manila' was one of the songs we performed that night," he happily shared.

HSCC also teased upcoming collaborations with Filipino artists for their YouTube channel, promising renditions of popular local hits. "We're recording with two Filipino artists for our YouTube channel. So we're looking forward to that. One is a male and the other is a female and we'll be releasing those two songs on our channel going forward," Constantine teased.

Other than that, HSCC is also set to serenade Filipino fans with global retro hits in their upcoming concert at the New Frontier Theater, Cubao. Ticket selling is still ongoing on Ticketnet outlets and their official website.
