Kapuso star Heart Evangelista has taken her artistry to a new level by expanding her Love Marie paintings from a canvas to a handbag.

The TV actress-host thought, “I wanted to be different, I wanted to be unique, and I wanted to carry myself and put it on my bag and show the world.”

She first took the risk by painting on her Hermes Birkin bag with an acrylic for leather, “It was a bit scary to paint on the bag, parang ‘Oh my gosh, am I really doing this?’ but it looks good so parang what I said, 'What a lil ouch can do, 'di ba?'”

Since then, the Beautiful Strangers star was so amused that she ended up painting on her other bags, as well as for her friends’ bags, which she does free of charge. For her other clients, “I get paid about 60-80 [thousand] per bag.”

The accomplished artist feels fulfilled seeing her works go places, but wishes for “my paintings can go far, far away. Singapore is the farthest pa lang.”

Heart recently got an inquiry from a European designer who she refused to name. She said it’s one of her goals as a painter, and crosses her fingers for the project to come to a reality.

“I just have to keep painting. Like it or not, I will keep painting 'til the day I die," she told GMANetwork.com during her “This is Me, Love Marie” book launch.
