Looking young is a big plus in show business, and very flattering for celebrities who are complimented for looking younger than their age. Having a youthful look also helps in the longevity of one's career, especially in an industry where competition is fierce.
But for actresses Ana Roces, Sunshine Cruz, and Ina Raymundo -- who has been in showbiz since the '90s -- aging gracefully entails hard work, dedication, and lifestyle change.
Ana Roces, who is set to appear in the upcoming primetime series Sahaya, admits that her close relationship to her two children has helped maintain her youthful glow.
"I'm very close and I'm very hands-on with my children, so maybe their youth rubbed off on me. Of course, I also take care of myself. I try to eat as healthy as I can, I exercise regularly, and I really have a healthy lifestyle."
She adds, "If I'm not taping, I sleep early and I also wake up early because I take my kids to school. My life outside my work really revolves around my kids."
Aside from eating properly and regular exercise, Sunshine Cruz also stays away from vices. "I don't smoke and I just drink wine occasionally," she shared in a previous interview.
Instead of partying all night like some teenagers, Sunshine chooses to bond with her three daughters. "I sleep a lot and wala rin akong nightlife. Ang nightlife ko is bonding time with my children."
Meanwhile, mom of five Ina Raymundo revealed that the secret to looking young and having a fit body is not really complicated.
"I eat well, I eat simple foods. I don't eat out a lot of restaurant food. For me, that's really high in calories and sodium so I try to avoid that. I work out five days a week."
She also makes sure that her sugar intake is at the minimum. "I really don't like eating anything that is too sweet. A lot of food that we consume have high sugar levels, we are just unaware of it."
