Here are simple hacks to get over jet lag from your favorite time-zone-hopping Kapuso globetrotters.

You can become a master packer, a flight-upgrade connoisseur, and a hotel-booking savant, but no matter how well-travelled you are, it's nearly impossible to become immune to jet lag.

While travelling east tends to be easier, hurtling your body a few time zones westwards throws all the body's systems out of whack all at once.

On average, you'll need a day of adjustment for every time zone crossed.

So, if you're vacationing seven hours into the past, it'll be a week before you're back on track.

Not ideal if that seventh day is the last day of your trip.

Want to feel better, faster? Follow these tips from some of our time-zone-hopping Kapuso globetrotters.

Change the time on your watch or phone

Once you're through security and know you won't miss your flight, start adjusting your clock and all relevant clock devices to your new time zone.

That way, your mind will already be in-sync with the destination right before it lands.

Prepare to adjust your sleeping schedule

Earplugs, eye mask, neck pillow - whatever you need, pack it, use it, keep it near you whenever you can. Wear a hoodie if you have to.

In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, Kapuso star Rhian Ramos shares her secret, “If you're landing in the morning, for the first half of your flight - don't sleep. So that you'll get tired.

“And then sleep on the second half, so that once you wake up, that counts as you waking up in the morning.”

Stay awake (only if you have to)

Another tip from Rhian is to try to keep yourself awake only if you're landing at night.

She recommends watching as many movies, bringing crossword puzzles, and rocking oneself to sanity.

“You know what? Take so many photos while you're in Manila and while you're in the plane, just edi!” she jokes.

Bring a little bit of home with you

Having something familiar, even just a smell that reminds you of your bed might be helpful for people who have trouble getting back to sleep.

Heart Evangelista, for example, wears her silk pyjamas and bring a pillow with her when she's flying on long haul flights.

Replicate your normal routine the next day

Your body clock bends to what scientists call, “time-givers” like bright natural light, meal times, and dark quiet rooms. If you normally work out as soon as you get up, do the same. Also, try to eat meals in local time, not when you're hungry.

Better yet, imitate Heart Evangelista! She is known to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning wherever in the world she may be.
