Public speaking to some may be a terrifying task, even dreadful to some.

Then there are those who flourish and thrive in the attention as they take the stage and make their voice heard.

But no matter how shy or introverted someone is, there are many ways to conquer fear and gain self-confidence.

This is the topic of Kapuso host Joyce Pring's recent vlog entry. And if you're looking for ways on how to boost your confidence level, here are some tips:

Be comfortable with who you are

Joyce explains that one cannot interact with people if they are not comfortable with themselves.

“That's the key to having the confidence to face other people.”

According to Joyce, if you want to start socializing with people, ask yourself first these questions: 1) How do I become comfortable with myself?; 2) What are my strengths and weaknesses?; 3) What are the things I want to know about myself?

After answering those questions, evaluate yourself and what qualities you want to accept and what do you want to adjust.

Go out of your comfort zone

If you are having a hard time getting to know yourself, Joyce suggested going out of your comfort zone. You can try a new sport; join a book club; or do activities that can help you gain new friends.

By allowing yourself to do things outside of your comfort zone, you have become aware of who you are and of people around you and you learn how to adjust.

“The more mistakes that you make, the more embarrassed you are in public, the more awkward you are. Pero unti-unti ka nang magiging comfortable with yourself 'cause you just kind of get used to it,” Joyce said.

Keep evolving and learning

Whether you're shy because of your upbringing or because of your nature, constantly evolving will help you love yourself more.

“Change is really the catharsis for a lot of good things, some bad things but a lot of good things as well,” Joyce explained.

Letting yourself change through time will let you discover some things about yourself you didn't know.

“You don't have to fit a certain mold just to be an OK person, or someone to be proud of. You be can awkward and mahiyain and still be someone that you're proud of. You just have to know your value,” Joyce advised.

At the end of her vlog, Joyce reminded people of these important things: "Your achievements or your outfits won't define who you are. It is your heart who will."
