Basketball player and iBilib host Chris Tiu is enjoying the Christmas season as a family man. How has the holidays become merrier for him after becoming a dad?

In an interview with GMANetwork.com, he says “I'm so grateful and blessed to have such a loving, happy and healthy family. It has changed my life for the better. I've never felt so much love and I've learned to be more self-giving. I've been married for 4 years. My daughter is 1.5 years old and we have another one on the way.”

Has he started any Christmas tradition with his daughter, Amanda? “This will be our second Christmas with her. Since my wife is deep into her pregnancy, we might just take it easy and stay in town. We will definitely spend time with both my family and my wife's family.”

Chris also shares the Christmas and New Year traditions he has with his family. “Usually we have Noche Buena with the Tiu clan in my aunt's house then we go to my parents' place to hang out while we open gifts as well.”

“We go to mass first thing on Christmas Day then have lunch or dinner with different family members. For New Year's Eve, we usually spend it in Tagaytay Highlands with my parents and siblings with a live band before the countdown. We hear mass first thing on January 1 then we have a nice special meal which my dad arranges, also in Tagaytay Highlands. If we have time, we play golf with my brothers.”

“This is our usual tradition but it could change any year since there are times when we have games on Christmas day and training.”

After all the Christmas shopping he’s done for his loved ones, what does Chris want to get for himself?

“What I want is usually not something material. But if it were material, I'd probably want to change my golf clubs and golf shoes. I also want a baby grand piano.”

As the year comes to a close, Chris also reflects on the memorable moments he’s had with his iBilib family.

“Every time we are recognized by award giving bodies, it is a momentous occasion and a very fulfilling moment. Every episode is exciting because we create science experiments out of ordinary things you can find at home. We also enjoy working with different guests from GMA every episode.”
