When you think of a classy, elegant lady the image that pops in your head is someone who is poised, polished, and has well-groomed nails.
It goes without saying that the French manicure is the official go-to nails of the affluent -- think, Queen Elizabeth, Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle, and so much more.
And because we all don't have the budget to take a regular trip to the nail salon, you can save your hard-earned cash and look classy by doing it at the comfort of your own home. All you need is some sheer pink, white, and clear nail varnish to easily do it yourself.
A perfect manicure starts by trimming your nails to your desired length and make sure they are even. Also, don't cut it too short! Because when it comes to the French mani, the longer they are, the better.
Whether rounded or square, grab a nail file and shape your nails.
Soak your hands in a bowl of warm water to soak and soften your cuticles. Then take a cuticle pusher and push your cuticles back and use the other hand to remove any dirt hiding underneath your nails
Before applying the base coat, buff your nails to prepare them for the varnish. Then, massage cuticle oil onto your nails at this time.
Paint on a thin layer of sheer pink polish to serve as your base coat and repeat this step. Allow your nails to dry before moving on.
Once your base is dry, place a nail guide to snag the perfect white tip. Nail guides are available in drugstores but it can also be as cheap as scotch tape. Just make sure you run it over your clothes before sticking it to your nails to remove excess tackiness.
With your white nail polish, lightly brush color onto the tip of your nails and let it dry. Again, wait for a second coat, and let it dry.
Remove the nail guide and apply a top coat of polish. Allow this coat to dry for several minutes and voila! You've just completed your very own French manicure!
Try this procedure during a lazy morning or evening when there are no pressing tasks at hand. After painting your nails, avoid doing things with your hands while they dry.
If you've got a whole lot of time on your hands, you can also try making your toes match your fingertips or switch it up with some colors.
