Filipina artist Ciara Gan shares her process on how she adds gorgeous painted flowers to her gown.

Big events such as prom night, balls, and debuts are times when girls can get all dolled up and feel special.

What better way to add a special touch to your look than by giving your gown a personal flair?

Filipina artist Ciara Gan, who went viral after posting her prom gown she painted herself, recently shared her process on YouTube on how she adds gorgeous painted flowers to her gown.

Step 1. Make a draft

Before jumping straight to painting the gown, take a moment to decide which flowers and color scheme would fit the gown.

Make a draft digitally and carefully think about the placement of each flower.

Based on Ciara's style, she likes to focus most of the flowers on the waist and makes it crawl down the gown.

Step 2. Make an outline in white

To make the color of the flowers pop more on the gown, Ciara outlines their shape using white acrylic paint.

Ciara admits that this part gets boring since it's just one color. Nevertheless, it's an important step in creating the final look.

Step 3. Have fun painting!

Ciara takes her time in painting and works on one color at a time. Painting one gown takes her about a week to finish.

She also paints the leaves and any additional details last.

The young artist has had a lot of practice when it comes to painting flowers. A quick peek at her art Instagram, @ciaraganart, and you can already see just how much she loves painting these.
