There's no denying that wearing monochrome is très chic!
Dressing head-to-toe in the same color is flattering, elegant, and not to mention time-saving. But even when it's easy and fast, there are still a few points you should consider before throwing together your outfit.
Sometimes a monochromatic look can be a bit dull but it doesn't necessarily mean wearing the same solid color from head to toe.
Here, we show some examples on how you can play with your outfit by drawing inspiration from Kapuso actress Janine Gutierrez:
Make your outfit look more interesting by mixing up the textures and shades.
For example, a sequin shirt with a leather skirt, a silk shirt with leather, wool, and satin bottoms, or a chiffon skirt with a denim jacket.
Monochrome elongates the body and when worn wisely can be extremely flattering for all body types.
Use it to your advantage and use lighter colors on the parts you want to highlight while darker colors for the parts you want to hide.
Just because you're wearing a single color ensemble that doesn't mean you can't have a little fun. Add a pop of color through your accessories whether its a pair of shoes or your eyeliner.
For a look that's instantly not boring, then go for an interesting ensemble. Whether it's a design that's out of the box or a color that's immediately striking, you'd go from blah to brilliant in no time!
Whether it's a top-to-bottom jewel tone, whites, or a neutral ensemble, monochromatic dressing definitely offers visual relief from the more frenzied trends of the past season.
So have fun and enjoy wearing 50 shades of your favorite color.
