Basketball cager-turned-TV host Chris Tiu was featured in a video of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) promoting their collaboration with the Philippine Textile Research Institute (PTRI) in developing the REwear mask.

The iBilib host explained that this REwear mask is a sustainable way to fight COVID-19.

Chris said, "To fight COVID-19 the Philippine Textile Research Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) created the REwear mask.

"REwear stands for reusable, washable, rewearable products. So, in simple terms Rewear mask is a cloth mask made smart!"

He also shared what makes this REwear mask special.

He said, "Ordinary face masks made of cloth has the 1st function of protecting us from street pollution. With PTRI's SmarTex program the fabric used for the face mask is coated with a liquid repellency finish, giving it the 2nd function.

"It repels liquid droplets that can cause viral infections."
