I Juander

Find out how Philippine mythology was formed.

In a recent episode of iJuander, hosts and veteran journalists Susan Enriquez and Mark Salazar uncover the origins of our famous Filipino myths and legends. They met up with historian Jasper Christian Gambito to unravel and delve deep into Philippine mythology.

Experts have discovered that our belief in creatures such as diwatas, tikbalang, and kapre can be traced back to as early as 1598 when the book Costumbres de Los Tagalos or Customs of the Tagalog by author Juan de Plasenca was written.

The book contains information regarding ancient people such as the catolonan, the leading healer in the community, the manananggal, and mangagayuma.
