Well, the wife of the late president and dictator Ferdinand Marcos was mentioned in episode 3 of the new season of the popular Netflix series The Crown. The show is about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.

Filipino netizens have been sharing on Twitter the clip wherein Princess Margaret played by Helena Bonham Carter talks about her experience meeting Imelda at a state banquet in Manila.

The scene of The Crown, which was posted by @nayrbf on Twitter has since gone viral. You can watch the clip below:

The Marcos family were forced to leave the Philippines in 1986 following the successful People Power revolt.

It was later found out that the first lady owned at least 3,000 pairs of shoes.

Ferdinand Marcos' decision to declare Martial Law on September 23, 1972 led to numerous human right violations being committed under his reign.

Moreover, investigations revealed that the late strongman, with the help of his cronies, siphoned off billions of pesos of taxpayers money.
