The “Sabado Nights” beauty lightheartedly took note of her resemblance with Brian in the picture.
Actress Ina Raymundo posted a throwback photo of her while on a night out with her eventual husband, Canadian-Ukrainian businessman, Brian Poturnak.
The picture was taken on June 17, 2000, and showed a young Ina sporting short hair and cozying up with Brian.
The pair met through their common friends during a group date.
“This photo was taken on our very “first date” (06.17.2000) when my hand I had the same hair,” Ina wrote about the picture.
“A lot of people (especially my relatives) would comment that we looked alike and that we'll end up together. I'm sure you've heard of that “kasabihan” that if a couple has a strong resemblance, they'll end up marrying each other.”
They did end up marrying each other.
Ina and Brian tied the knot on December 10, 2003 at the Santuario de San Antonio Parish on McKinley Road in Forbes Park, Makati City.
Their marriage was blessed with five children: Erika Rae, Jakob, Mikaela Jade, Anika Sage, and Minka Eve.
FROM FRIENDS TO LOVERS
Ina rekindled the start of her relationship with Brian in an interview with The Asian Parent Philippines.
“There was no romantic spark, none at all!” she said.
“Before, we were really just phone pals. We'd talk on the phone every day, and he was either in the US or Bangkok. At that time I had a boyfriend, and Brian knew that. I wasn't open to a relationship, so I just joked with him that the only reason I was willing to talk to him was because I wanted to practice my English!” she laughed.
The actress, speaking to Just In host Paolo Contis in November of last year, relayed a funny story of her first impression of Brian.
"Noong unang date namin, although group date 'yun ah. Akala ko sa kanya, 'yung tipong chubby kasi ang loose ng T-shirt niya tapos ang laki ng leeg niya... ang lapad."
She continued, “One time, na-touch ko 'yung body niya. Na-trip lang ako... pero style ko lang 'yun. Gusto ko lang ma-check. 'Yun pala, oh my gosh, rock hard! Talagang 'yung body niya, like 'yung abs niya sobra talagang feel na feel ko 'yung mga pandesal niya doon sa shirt niya.”
Ina's relationship eventually ended and the two friends started seeing more of each other leading to romance then marriage.
The “Sabado Nights” girl credited her husband for helping her overcome postpartum depression after giving birth to Erika and Jakob.
The episode pushed Ina to eat healthily, strengthen her faith in God, and be more open to Brian about her internal struggles.
She also started working out upon the egging and encouragement of her husband.
That Ina, 45, managed to maintain her youthful appeal is proof of her dedication to self-care and wellness.
“I eat well, I eat simple foods. I don't eat out a lot of restaurant food. For me, that's really high in calories and sodium so I try to avoid that. I work out five days a week,” Ina said in 2019.
“I really don't like eating anything that is too sweet. A lot of food that we consume have high sugar levels, we are just unaware of it.”
