
Indie actor Kristofer King also known by his real name Christopher Reyes passed away on Saturday evening, February 23.
Kristofer was taken to Adventist Medical Center earlier the same day when his heart reportedly stopped beating for a few minutes.
He passed away later in the evening at the hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The exact cause of death is yet to be announced. Kris has been suffering from diabetes, pneumonia, sciatica, heartburn, and an infection.
Award-winning directors Brillante Mendoza and Adolf Alix Jr. have expressed their grief over the actor's passing.
On his Facebook account Brillante wrote, “You will always be my best actor. I will miss u King.”
Adolf penned a message for Kristofer: “Rest in peace, Kristofer King. Thank you for sharing your talent. This will be your final film I guess. They'll witness how you become invisible in every role you portray.”
Kristofer appeared in numerous local films and was widely known in the indie film community. He was also part of Kapuso shows, most recently in The Stepdaughters and Inday Will Always Love You.
Kristofer's last TV appearance was in the Feb. 23 episode of Tadhana, where he acted alongside Diana Zubiri.
